Patients
It’s no secret: Americans pay more for health care than comparable advanced economies around the world. The problem spans far beyond our mile-high prescription drug prices, with elevated costs for diagnostic tests, surgeries, outpatient procedures, and almost every other type of health care service.
More is not better.
Greater expense does not yield greater quality care. While the health care sector accounts for a whopping 24% of all government spending, our Medicaid system produces the worst health care outcomes in America. In fact, patients on Medicaid often fare worse than patients with no health insurance at all.
How do we create change?
Most politicians don’t lose sleep over health care policy. But all politicians are concerned about voters. And patients vote — you vote!
